The Beginnings of an Ice Cream Store

So...where did we leave off. I know...we opened on Halloween weekend 2007 to a fanfare of delights. First off, we passed the health inspection with flying colors. Then we had to clean the store which was a huge task at hand. The previous "franchise" owner was pretty much tapped out sending all her money to the franchise and they closed the doors on her and the place sat empty for almost 4 months.

Then we cleaned, sanitized and kick the franchise right out to the curb (well the trash bin) and said good riddins..."We don't like your kind" and we were off with our new store and business.

Now that the store was cleaned and "de-franchised" we had to develop our line of ice cream. How to come up with flavors???? Well we all sat down and tasked ourselves with coming up with flavors. Of course, Casey wanted a Superstition Farm flavor to represent his blue collar culture and Sherene wanted a flavor that her son would love and be named after him. Thus the evolution of Superstition Farms and Monkey Moo (Sherene's little guy Jack is nicknamed Monkey). These two flavors are our top sellers.

Then we played around and came up with a number of other flavors. We also listened to our friends and family and came up with some really cool ideas. Our peanut butter flavors blends well topped with Strawberry for a PB&J experience. Our White Chocolate Raspberry is so good that we decided to use this flavor to support our Breast Cancer 3 day walk team.

Come by and taste our flavors...they changed sometimes daily as well experiment and use the local seasonal fruits. Our peach flavor right now is the best...

Udder Delights

Udder Delights has arrived. http://www.udderdelightsaz.com/

Ok..Friends, family, bloggers, and everyone..are you ready to find out about our store?

On October 4th, 2007 two friends of different IP and Zip Code addresses collided. Just like a Seinfeld episode, we took our blue collar world and our white collar world and began a trainride adventure of a lifetime.

You are probably thinking...ok drama king and queen..it's just an ice cream store. Oh no buddy...it's Udder Delights Local Foods and Desserts. We kicked that corporate franchise out the door and took over....no more big boxes for us...we want to save the community.

Thus began...our story...

On October 26th against all doubters saying we couldn't get the store opened in 3 weeks...we did!!! Staffed with a friend of a friend, and his friends...we opened the door and said "Welcome to Udder Delights" and we say that each and every time someone walks into our store.

There wasn't a book, a recipe, or a dollar but we came through and by the support of our family and friends we now have developed into a force to be reckoned with..ask our Mascot, Buttercup.
Our names are Sherene Robinson and Casey Stechnij. We have been friends for about 10 years. We began our frienship by attending an art exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum where we were almost asked to leave because Sherene's Marie Antionette's wig touched a painting. It was a Halloween party at the Museum and we both dressed for the wrong period but that's a whole other story....

Both college educated and both hard working individuals making a difference day by day in our own seperate communities. Sherene brings in her white collar corporate culture and Casey brings in his blue collar local farm culture. We decided to mix it up, collide our worlds and develop the best local ice cream, local foods, and local dessert bar. Basically a sampling of all the ingredients from our lives.
Stay tuned and come by our store...we will update you with our successes, trials, tribulations and take you on a reality adventure only the local can handle.

Don't forget to drink your milk and eat your ice cream.
